**PET Crystallization Dryer: An Overview**

1. **Crystallization:**  

  PET is a semi-crystalline polymer. In its amorphous (non-crystalline) state, PET is hygroscopic and prone to clumping or degradation when exposed to heat. 2. **Drying:**  

  After crystallization, the dryer removes residual moisture from the PET material using a dehumidified hot-air system. Even trace moisture can hydrolyze PET at high temperatures, leading to molecular breakdown, discoloration, or defects in the final product. The dryer maintains a low dew point (often below -40°C) and precise temperature control to achieve moisture levels below 50 ppm, ensuring optimal material quality.


**Working Principle:**  

The process begins with pre-drying to remove surface moisture. The material is then fed into a crystallizer, where it is agitated and heated to induce crystallization. Subsequently, the crystallized PET moves to a drying hopper, where desiccant-based dehumidifiers supply ultra-dry air to extract moisture thoroughly. Advanced systems feature programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor parameters like temperature, airflow, and residence time, ensuring repeatability and efficiency.
